Viva Dental Care offers full general dentistry (Cleaning, Whitening,Fllings, extractions), Crown & Bridge, Cosmetic (Veneer +Invisalign), Implants , Orthodontics(braces).

Food /Drink: Avoid heavy meals before the appointment- so the Dentist can spend more time on your consultation and less time cleaning out your lunch. Brush and Floss as usual. Avoid excess caffeine as it increases anxiety.

Dental Records: Please email your existing/provide Viva Dental care their contact- so we can receive your previous dental records.

Medical history: Please note down your medical history/ /existing medication/past treatment details and allergies.

Yes- the Dr will ensure your examination results are explained in detail, treatment plan options layed out in simple terms and the number of visit(s) required for your specific treatment plan

Our Dentist will do a full examination of your Dental/oral health

Our Dentist will first examine your Teeth and advise on which type of cleaning treatment you require + other dental needs (such as fillings, crowns and Root Canals).

• Regular dental check-ups - but WINZ Covers with Treatment quote.
• Cosmetic treatments(E.g Veneers, Whitening)
• Cleaning, scaling, and polishing, unless teeth cleaning is required to treat a gum infection.
• Cast restorations.
• Orthodontic treatment (Braces/ Invisalign)
• Molar root canal treatment, unless there are exceptional circumstances that mean a molar root canal is essential.
• Dentures, if the patient is eligible for recoverable denture (See below)
• Treatments that are co-paid by ACC.
• Payments over $1,000 - Although this can be paid the patient will be charged small weekly payments back to WINZ ($10-$25/week approx minimum- discuss with your WINZ case manager)

Yes that's normal. Please tell our team about your issues in detail and the Dentist will help you in the treatment process accordingly.

Common fears are Anaesthesia injections , Drill noise, Drill feeling, Extraction, blood and suction machine. This affects many patients and is totally normal.

Please discuss this with our Dentist and he will explain the process to you in clarity.

Medical GPs/Specialists- please get medical approval for the below conditions and any others noted on your medical profile. This is critical for Liver/Kidney patients in particular and Kidney Dialysis patients

Diabtes and Heart disease - please note down your details and medications

Liver disease/fatty liver/- you must get a GP certificate/aprival and blood test for Extractions.

Kidney/Renal- Please get your Kidney specialist (nephrologist) to do a full assessment for your dental risk and also any tests for susceptcible viruses the Dentist must be aware of .

Gout- depending on severity- you will need a GP letter of approval

Other medical issues-

At the Free Dental Consult , you wont need to worry about this stuff. Just note it down on our New Patient Form.

Please ensure all your existing medical issues are noted/all approval is completed- so we can help you in the safest manner possible.

Patients can legally ask their dentists for their dental records.

1) Email your existing Dentist/Clinic for your past treatment records/Imaging / Xrays and have them send it to vivadentalcare.nz@gmail.com

2)Tell us your previous Clinic Name and we will contact them with your approval as the patient.

This is especially critical for Crowns, Implants and patients with exisnting issues.
